COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is for people interested in becoming a qualified beauty therapist. This qualification reflects the role of individuals who possess a sound theoretical knowledge base and use a range of specialised, technical or managerial competencies to plan, carry out and evaluate the work of self and/or team in the industry of Beauty Services. They may coordinate the operation of a business or operate on a freelance basis.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Students will need to demonstrate the Learning, Literacy and Numeracy skills required for this course prior to course commencement.
DURATION
This course has two intakes per year in February and July. Day and night classes are available, however dependent on timetable available.
Day Classes – 9:30am – 2:30pm
Night Classes – 6pm – 9pm
Full Time – 12 Months
4 – 5 days/nights per week
Part Time – 24 Months
2 -3 days/nights per week
COURSE DELIVERY
This course is delivered via face-to-face teaching, demonstration and practical application. Students experience a simulated workplace environment, with access to equipment, products and facilities reflecting industry practice. Students are also required to complete a total of 100 hours mandatory work experience to be undertaken prior to course completion.
STUDENT CLINIC
SCA operates a student run clinic day designed to enable students to gain valuable experience and skills for treating clients in a Beauty Salon environment. SCA students are supervised by an educator and perform treatments in which they have been deemed competent in. SCA’s Beauty Clinic allows students to build the skills needed to find work placement and employment after their qualification.
STUDENT KITS
SCA students purchase their kits which include the materials and equipment they require to perform treatments in class and outside class hours and within their work experience. The materials and equipment within your kits become the students property once purchased. COURSE FEE OPTIONS
Option One – Fee for Service
Full Cost – $15,520.00
Deposit – $1,000.00
Payment Plan – Twelve (12) monthly payments of $1,210.00
Please be aware that there are additional costs for student kits and photo shoots for make-up units.
Option Two – VET Student Loans Funding
