Our Team
Our Educators are qualified Trainer/Assessors, in addition to being dedicated professionals who have extensive industry experience and current qualifications. Their industry experience is continually up to date as many Educators still work in the industry and participate in professional development activities.
At SCA, we deliver nationally accredited qualifications via training face-to-face and on some occasions in the workplace. When you study at SCA, your Educators will be there to assist you throughout your course. Students attend a classroom training environment, with extensive practical and theory sessions. Our Educators deliver the training in a way that students will enjoy and understand.

Virginia Kettley
Having worked in the Beauty Industry for over 20 years, Virginia now has the opportunity to pass on her knowledge and experience to our students so they can succeed in this exciting and ever-changing industry. Virginia is a qualified Beauty Therapist, Nail Technician and a qualified Trainer and Assessor. Virginia has been working as an SCA Educator for the past 11 years. In this time, Virginia has had the pleasure of working as part as a growing team that is focused on providing a high level of professional education and training.

Taryn has been working in the Beauty Industry for the past 13 years and is a Diploma qualified Beauty Therapist, and qualified Trainer and Assessor. Working in the Beauty Industry has offered Taryn many different opportunities and career paths that has led her to work at South Coast Academy. Taryn has been teaching for the past 4 years at SCA and has had the chance to share her experience and knowledge with a fantastic team of like-minded professionals and students.

Val has been a Beauty Therapist for the past 28 years. In that time, Val has worked in has salons, owned her own successful salon, and had years of teaching experience as an Educator. Val loves being a part of the SCA team of professional, enthusiastic Trainers and Assessors who are all passionate about the ever-changing Beauty Industry. Val is a Diploma qualified Beauty Therapist and a qualified Trainer and Assessor.

Emma Clayton
Emma has been working in the Hair Industry for over 25 years and has had an extensive experience gained from working with key Industry leaders. Emma has worked in a variety of positions including Hair Stylist, Salon Owner, Technical Trainer and sales rep. One of Emma’s career highlights was working overseas in a leading London salon. Emma has been a Hairdressing Trainer and Assessor for 9 years and is a Certificate IV level Hairdresser with post-trade commercial men’s barbing skills. Emma loves watching students develop their skills and evolve into competent stylists and believes that education and training is the key to all new Hairdressers in the Industry.

Craig has dreamt of working with the best in the Hair Industry and has achieved this at a relatively young age. Craig is a qualified Certificate III Hairdresser and Trainer and Assessor. Craig loves to educate and share his passion for all things hair with the South Coast Academy Students entering the Industry. Craig has been a part of the SCA team for the last few years teaching the new generations of hairdressers. Craig owns and operates his own successful salon based in Port Kembla.

Mitch is a qualified Hairdresser with over 19 years in the Industry, Mitch love's interacting with people and creating looks personalised to them. Through educating the new generations of Hairdressers, Mitch hopes to pass on all the knowledge he has acquired over the years in this exciting industry.

Chiara has had an extensive career in the hair and beauty industry having worked for over 25 years in salons and owning her own business. Complimentary to her extensive hairdressing career, Chiara has also spent over 10 years in the education sector teaching across multiple curriculums specific to hair and beauty, retail and business. Chiara has extensive knowledge working with different learning styles and abilities leading to successful learning outcomes and student satisfaction. Chiara is a qualified Hairdresser and Trainer and Assessor.
